Ready for Cyclocross, trail-riding, commuting or light loaded touring. Our butted 7005 cyclocross frame is a true all-around frame that can be built up as anything from a full on cyclocross racer to a well loved commuter to a light touring bike. The oversize 66x34 to 56x44mm bi-oval down tube increases weld surface area for superior strength while adding stiffness for powerful out of the saddle climbing. 11-O'Clock rear brake routing along the top tube for easy shoulder carries, with disc hose/cable guides on the left seatstay. Relaxed Head angle for stable riding under rough conditions and reduced toe overlap even on the small sizes. Elegant relieved aluminum rear dropouts with replaceable hanger (p/n NB-RDH-X) and IS disc mount. Frame features: 2 water bottle braze-ons, fittings for a rear rack, chainstay and seatstay bridges are drilled and threaded for fenders, down tube cable stops with adjusters, IS disc mount, cantilever/V-brake studs, forward facing seatpost relief to keep the mud out, and clearance for 700x38 tires plus mud. Build Requirements: 27.2 seatpost, 31.8mm seat collar, 31.8 clamp-on bottom pull front derailleur, 135mm rear hub spacing, 700c wheels, 1 1/8" fork and headset. Frame Wt 3.6 pounds. A NOTE ON SIZING: To size your X frame measure the effective top tube length of your favorite road frame, add your stem extension, then subtract 1 cm. This is the measurement you will need to get to with the X frame plus stem extension. For example your current road bike has a 57cm effective top tube, plus a 11cm stem: 57+11 is 68. Subtract the 1cm for 67cm. So you could ride a size medium with a 11cm stem, or a large with a 9cm stem. Generally go with the smaller size for the shorter wheelbase and increased standover clearance. Standover is measured with a 700x38c Kenda Tire mounted to a Mavic MA3. Standover is measured at the mid point of the top tube. See geometry chart for size breakdowns. Specify Size: X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, or X-large. Compare at $349
