Steel is back! And this time, it's orange! We contacted our founder, Arni Nashbar, and got his blessing to do one more eponymous frame, but Arni's really particular about style and details. He didn't want us putting his signature on just any hunk of metal. So, what we have here is the Zenith of 30 years of Nashbar history, and no corners were cut: TIG-welded double butted Reynolds 853 air-hardened steel (legendary for its strength and liveliness) make up the main triangle while externally tapered 4130 chromoly makes up the rear stays. You don't need cumbersome pivots and shocks when the whole frame has such a resilient ride. The details keep on coming: authentic investment cast Ritchey rear dropouts speed wheel changes with their drop-in design. Externally butted head tube sheds weight without sacrificing strength. Rear IS disc-brake mount is trussed for extra strength. We didn't forget about canti' users, there are rear brake studs as well. Dynamically shaped and tapered chainstays have enough clearance for a 2.3" rear tire and enhance lateral stiffness while still providing a compliant ride. Two classic diamond-styled cage braze-ons (bolts-included) for those that need to transport potable water or a light battery on backcountry adventures. Top-tube routed derailleur cable-stops and brake-hose guides (clips included) and forward seat tube relief to keep things clean when the trail gets muddy. As you've come to expect from Nashbar frames, there are no gaudy downtube decals, but the Reynolds 853 badge and chainstay signature are applied under the clear coat. A subtle "script n" head tube decal is included in the box, but not applied. Please click "More Info " link below for frame geometries and specifications.
