These provide warmth and wind protection but they were difficult to fit properly. The left one constantly pops off the front of the shoe yet they are so tight that they are very difficult to get on the shoes. It's a good well-made product but maybe they just didn't fit the shoes we tried them on very well (non-Pearl Izumi shoes). While they are nice for colder weather, we found that after an hour or two, feet were still cold in weather below 40F. We would not recommend them for temperatures outside of the range 35-60F. For colder weather, get some winter shoes that are made for the cold stuff. Speaking of winter cycling shoes, we've had the pleasure of trying one of the best, the Lake MXZ302 which is a gem in the real cold stuff. The fit of these shoes was on the small size, so size up because you'll want to have a thicker sock under them anyhow.
